town is the estate of the artist Ilya Repin, where he lived for 8 years. The wooden house was built on sketches of Repin and like structure rather on a fairy tower. During the Second world war the manor was completely destroyed, but in the 80s, the architects have restored the old sketches. The main house is now the Museum of Repin, but the area around is a downright charming Park.
