Gol′fstrím
Warm sea current in the Atlantic Ocean. In
the narrow sense of Gol′fstrimom is called for along
the eastern coast of North America from the Florida straits to the Newfoundland banks. The Gulf stream is a powerful jet over a width of 70-90 km, spreading with a maximum speed of up to several meters per second in the upper layer of the ocean, is rapidly decreasing with depth.
