Alexander Graham Bell

Scottish-born US scientist and inventor. He opened his own school in Boston for training teachers of the deaf (1872).In 1876 he became the first person to transmit intelligible words through electric wire . He patented the telephone the same year, and in 1877 he cofounded Bell Telephone Co. His invention opened a new age in communication technology.
