12 years old. I’m in the sixth form.
I’m

doing quite well at school. English is my favourite subject. My parents are proud of my marks.
My hobby is painting . I take part in competitions and exhibitions.
I’d like to present you my achievements in studying English and the fragments from my works.

““The Mark of Zorro”
“The Mark of Zorro” was written

by Johnston McCulley. He was born in the USA in 1883. McCulley wrote 64 stories about the masked hero, Zorro.
This story takes place in California in about 1822.
It isn’t a true story. But it is very interesting!

“The Picture of Dorian Grey”

This story was written by Oscar Wild.
He wrote a lot of stories, plays and poems. They are still popular.
“The Picture of Dorian Gray” the only published novel by Oscar Wilde.

“Treasure Island”
“Treasure Island” was written by Robert Louis

Stevenson. It is one of his most famous stories.
It takes place in the middle of the eighteenth century. It is the story of pirates who stole treasure from ships in the Caribbean. They buried the treasure on an island…

three books: “Swiss Family Robinson”, “A journey to the

centre of the Earth” and “Gulliver’s travels in Lilliput” of the series “Way Ahead Reader”. I have chosen these books because I love stories about adventures, journeys and danger. Heroes of these stories help each other in difficult situations, learn the new world.

seen my grandparents. All of them died before my

birth. I’d like to tell you about my grandmother. She was my mother’s mother. Her name was Alexandra. When she was 16 in 1945 she and her little sister remained alone because their father was killed in the war and their mother died. My Granny decided to leave their village. She and her little sister put their simple belongings together and set of for another village on foot. When they got necessary place my Granny found a dwelling and started work in the collective farm. She earned their living and her little sister went to school.
My Granny knew how to act. She didn’t give her sister to the children’s home despite of she was told about it. I’m proud of her.

summer holidays
The place where I’d like to spend my

summer holidays is a desert island. Let me explain my choice.
Recently I have read “Robinson Crusoe” by Daniel Defoe in English. This book is about a sailor from York who lived during twenty-eight years on the desert island near the mouth of the river Orinoco where he was thrown with the shipwreck. He found himself on an desert island, with no other land to be seen, except some rocks. Ship’s complement except Robinson Crusoe perished. His adventures on this island gained my attention. I’d like to have personal experience of difficult situations. The best traits of Robinson when he lived on the island were dedicated work, courage, will, inventiveness and thirst for life. Everybody must have these remarkable traits. Where there is a will there is a way.
That’s why I’d like to spend my summer holidays on the desert island.
