Андреевич Крылов-русский писатель -баснописец. Высмеивал социальные и человеческие пороки . Написал 203 басни .

Крылов был беден и не смог жениться. Зато талантами,

здоровьем и отменным аппетитом был наделен природой сверх меры. Знал пять иностранных языков, превосходно играл на скрипке; до самых холодов купался .
Krylov was poor in his youth. He never married. But he was talented,healthy and had a very good appetite. He knew 5 foreign languages,he played the violin very well,he bathed in very cold water.

ценил простой русский обед – добрые щи, ботвинью, кулебяку,

жирные пирожки, гуся с груздями, сига с яйцами и поросенка под хреном. Иногда соблазнялся устрицами и уничтожал сразу до 100 штук, запивая английским портером. Чаще всего он обедал в гостях или Английском клубе.

His only passion was food. He appreciated a simple Russian dinner- shchee, cold beetroot soup,kulebyaka,patties,
goose stuffed with mushrooms,whitefish with eggs and pork in horseradish sauce. Sometimes he managed to eat up to 100 oysters, drinking the English porter. More often he had dinner in guests or he visited the English Club.

The poet used to come at four o'clock,read a couple of fables and occupied his place at the dinner table. On Maslenitsa week they usually served various kinds of blini. Ivan Krylov used to eat more than thirty pancakes with caviar.

His 70th anniversary took place in the Noble Assembly Hall. There were 300 people there. Many famous people gave speeches. A festive dinner began with «Demyanov's ookha and Krylov's kulebyaka».

приходилось все время кланяться и благодарить. «Так и пропал обед, и какой обед!» – вспоминал он через три года.

Krylov had never seen such a great dinner. Balyk and salmon melted in a mouth . The trouble was that the writer had to thank everybody for the greetings. «So,the dinner was lost!»-he said three years later.

хлебосол. Чтобы угодить Крылову, меню составляли из самых сытных кушаний.

In the last years of his life he dined in Alexander Turgenev's house every week. Turgenev was very hospitable and had a good cook. To satisfy Krylov's tastes they made up the menu from the most nourishing dishes.
