Grigorievna Timachyova is the most famous person of our
village.

This simple and quiet woman dedicated all her
life to this handicraft. She was awarded several medals
and got a lot of diplomas in recognition
of her work which has enriched the handicraft of Khokhlomskaya Rospis. Now Nina Grigorievna is a pensioner.

Nina Grigorievna Timachyova (Peskova) was born on October
13, 1938 in the family of collective – farmers.
She was born in the village of Palamino in Semyonovsky district .

First she studied 4 years at Palaminskaya primary
school. Then the family moved to Protazanovo
and the girl
studied there till the 7th form. A few years later she finished Koverninskaya secondary comprehensive school.

Nina Grigorievna was born in a poor
family and her childhood was a hard one.
The family
worked a lot but sometimes they had to starve, there was not enough bread for eating.

But the parents encouraged her to get an
education and due to her parents she entered the
school for Wood-working.
Arts and Crafts in Semyonov which was founded in 1916.

She was thought a special technique of Khokhlomskaya
Rospis.
She was able to make ornaments out of
grasses, flowers and fruit, simple and every day things and transform them into works of art.

In 1961 Nina Grigorievna began working in Kuligino.

Being very patient and hardworking she was invited
to work in creative group of Syominskaya factory of
Khokhlomskaya Rospis in 1971.
It was the best period of her life.

A great number of her objects-wooden cups, caskets,
salt cellars got great popularity.
They had great success
at exhibitions, both in our country and abroad.

Her works express joy and poetic feeling and
were bought by many museums of our country.

You can see her genuine masterpieces in such
cities as Zagorsk, Moscow, St-Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Cheboksary, Irkutsk
and Krasnodar. Annually since 1972 till 1989 Nina Grigorievna was invited to different exhibitions of Decorative, Applied and Folk Arts in Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan and many other cities of our loved country.

Her works were acknowledged at that time as the
most desirable of Russian souvenirs.
Painted wooden tableware made by Nina Grigorievna was an object of wide public attention in Germany and was acclaimed by the Germans.

of a painter is challenging. They work long hours indoors. To be a qualified painter it is necessary to study all the time”
